Uninstalling the dongle driver
- Leave the dongle connected to your PC (if you have already removed the dongle plug it in again now).
- From the Windows Start menu select Settings>Control Panel.
This opens the Windows Control Panel. Near the bottom of the list you will see an item called 'System'.
- Double-click 'System' to open the System Properties window.
- Click the 'Device Manager' tab to open this page.
- The dongle driver will be highlighted with a yellow question mark. (If you cannot see this because you have removed the dongle, plug the dongle back in then click Refresh.)
- Select the HASP dongle driver then click Remove (the HASP4 USB number may differ from that shown here).
- You will be prompted to confirm the removal - click OK.
- Close all other windows.
This completes the dongle driver uninstallation. Now you need to reinstall the dongle driver to successfully run the Ascent program.
